When the resin is used for water treatment, when the resin is damaged for various reasons, the resin will enter the whole water system, which will affect the normal operation of other equipment in the system, so it is necessary to install the resin catcher. The resin catcher mainly installs a filter screen with a much smaller aperture on the water system pipeline near the outlet of the equipment containing resin such as the ion exchanger. When the resin passes through, it can be intercepted and captured by the filter screen to discharge the captured resin out of the system.
The following are the causes of resin breakage:
1. Poor manufacturing quality. In the manufacturing process of resin, due to improper maintenance of process parameters, some or a large number of resin particles will occur cracking or crushing phenomenon, which is manifested as low crushing strength of resin particles and low sphericity after grinding.
2. Freeze. Resin particles contain a large amount of water, stored or transported at sub-zero temperature, the water will freeze, volume expansion, causing the collapse of resin particles. Frozen resin under the microscope can be seen a large number of cracks, after a short period of use will appear serious breakage. In order to prevent resin seas, resin should be stored in the 5 to 40 ℃, avoid the frozen period.
3. Dry. Resin particles exposed to air, will gradually lose its internal moisture, resin particles shrink smaller. Dry resin soaked in water, it will quickly absorb water, particle size swell, resulting in resin cracking and crushing. For this purpose, the resin should be kept sealed during storage and transportation to prevent drying. To already the resin of air drying, should immerse it first saturated salt water, use the ion of high concentration in solution, restrain the dilate of colophony grain, dilute with water gradually again, in order to reduce colophony crack ball and broken.
4. Influence of osmotic pressure. Under normal operating conditions, the resin particles will produce internal stress of expansion or contraction during the failure process. Resin in long-term use, repeated expansion and contraction, is the main cause of resin particles cracks or broken. The rate of expansion and contraction depends on the rate of resin transformation, which in turn depends on the salt concentration and velocity of water inflow. When the gel resin is used as natural water chemical desalination, the maximum flow rate is generally not more than 40m/h, and when it is used as condensate desalination, the maximum flow rate is generally not more than 60m/h. Due to its strong skeleton structure, high porosity and high transition speed, the flow rate of condensed water can be up to 100m/h.
